I know I know =) But since I am practically experimenting around, how much nitrous exactly would a forged 194 L6 be able to hold provided I forged the internals and upgrade the valvetrain with a decent nitrous grinded cam??

If it can be built to handle 100 to 200hp shot of nitrous. Then that's all that I would need for the track.

Has anyone here experminted on this setup? Or should I just quit fooling myself and get that 250ci or V8 for what I want? Car is strickly going to be a track car with limited show. She'll rarely see the street. However I want it to be unique, so in a way V8 is the last thing on my mind.

I have not seen anyone do much with the 194 L6. Probably good hints why I shouldn't bother either =) hehe. But what you guys think?

When I used the Nos brand Cheater set-up.
It says the the engine needs to be 350 cubic inches minimum. This was installed on my 250, I used the smallest jets 150-175 HP. This was so powerful that it just detonated the whole time.
It was unreal how fast my Camaro went even with the detonation. I remeber running it 2nd through third gear auto, & on the shift from 2nd to 3rd @ about 80 mph it broke the tires loose & the car chainged lanes on me awesome!!! :-) It was really just to much to be safe. I ordered 75 HP jets from NOS & that worked out pretty good. I was new to nitrous @ that time so I did not have a nitrous cam, I retarded the timing but that was not enough to supress the detonation. I never blow up the engine, I had forged pistons & had 9-1 comp. Dollar for dollar you cant beat the HP gains w/Nos. Give it a try, if you do not like the NOS you can easily sell it to someone else.

You can also try making your own setup:

I don't know if it applies to nitrous, but maybe water injection can help with the detonation.

Raben- First I would build the biggest motor I could get 250 or a little more would be the 292. Make as much power on motor before you pray the nitrous to it. A well tuned carb and ignition are a must for a nitrous motor. The intake boss needs to be removed for a good spray pattern. Forged pistons and stock rods 100 hp of N20. Forged pistons, aluminum or billet rods 200-300 hp on a good tuneup. If you want to see my setup at www.mighty6.com In the future this intake, carbs and nitrous is FOR SALE! Going to a single carb w/nitrous for class racing.
