Hey All, My projects on hold so all I can do is think on a few ideas. Has anyone tried to widen a 3x1 Offy intake to accept 2 barrel carbs? The 2 to 1 adapters would be the easy way out, why do easy. Thoughts?

Buffalo Ent. will re-machine that manifold and weld the 2bbl plates on it, so the Holly/Weber Carbs will fit, work & look great. Good luck.

Also, Langdon's has the adaptors to allow the H/W progressive 2 barrels to bolt on. Check out his web site, ad runs on this site. Also I believe those little adaptors are an aftermarket item for Jeeps etc. Check out some Jeep parts dealers online.
I just sold an Offy 3x1 intake that had cast iron Weiand adaptors for the bolt on trick.
Just search online for carb adaptors, I found several.

John, a few years back Langdon did this conversion to a two pot offy intake for me. I used his carb adapters and the carter/weber 2bbls he sells, along with his linkage. I don't know what your project is but on some cars this setup gets real close to the firewall. Don

Hi guys, I too used Tom Langdon's Offy intake, adapters, H/W carbs and linkage. It took all the struggle out of fabing something up. All work great and only needed a little tweaking. I putsmaller jets in the primaries(50's) and larger in the secondaries(55's). This helped the mileage a little but the big thing was to add the heated intake plate that Tom sells. This smoothed out the low/idle roughness and it helps on starting too. I also used Tom's Repro Stelling/Hellings aluminum air cleaners. This made for a very nice and neat look as you can see below. I had my intake powdercoated and his cast headers Hot Jet coated too. It always looks nice with a minimun of cleaning. I know this kind of sounds like a Tom Langdon advertisement but it's not. His stuff just plain works! RapRap 1940 choppedChevyCoupe

Thanks all, Its been a very long time since I wrote or spoke, don't even remember which now, to Tom about my project. Forgive me Tom if I miss understood. Anyone else with 64-65's, please chime in if I have this wrong. Hood clearance is a problem for the 64-65 Chevelles using the 2bb adapters on the 3x1 intakes.
Any pic's of the Buffalows finished manifold, bare of the carbs, conversion work? John C.
