I have a broken part and need a replacement. I have a '65 chevy II with a '66 194ci chevelle engine. Now the top radiator hose conects to this pice that is bolted to the head. Now this piece has two parts that bolts together. The bottom piece has threads for the temperature sending unit. Now were the threads are for the temperature sending unit theres is a small crack. The piece is aparently made out of aluminium, but I was wondering if I could weld it to fix the small "split" type of crack. I don't think it was caused by the sending unit Anywho, I was wondering if I could weld it or were I could find a new one, NAPA han't been much help. thanks
P.S I know it sounds kind of like a riddle.

The part you are describing sounds like the thermostat housing. I believe that any 194-292 part is interchangable; not sure about integral heads however. You may need to get a pipe plug or two depending on what the new housing comes from, but you should be able to make one work. If you know any one who has pulled a inline or pick a part yards you may be able to get one for free or very cheap. I found this one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34202&item=2458186225

I know the one off the 194 in my 66 worked fine on the 292 that replaced it.
