Hi, In the 12 port news back in Sept./Oct.2003 Ron Sneddon has A Teck Tip "Sideways For Safety" witch is A great idea,and i'm now working on. Now for my ?What have you Inliners out there used to remove the 6 cyl. from A 66 or whatever chev. truck.I havent had much luck in getting the eng. to balance and since I will be in & out with the eng. looking for ideas that will make the task A little more enjoyable.Looking forword to all replies Bob B.

It sounds like what you need is a "Load Leveler" to attach to your engine lift.
If you're not sure what that is go to EBay for an illustration,they have tons listed, and then go to NAPA or PEP BOYS, etc. and buy one. They are not that expensive ~ $50 or less. Regarding your truck; you will find
lifting out the engine and/or trans a lot easier if you remove the truck hood.

Sure enough a load leveler is the hot setup. Almost anyplace that sells engine stands will also sell the load leveler. Harbor Freight has them & UPS will deliver so that your gas mileage stays super. The load leveler is also great for those times when you decide to pull the engine AND transmission at the same time. Just turn the crank to get a new balance point.
