Dear Jerry;
I have a similar one (one ram)that works fine.
It's a little slow in cold weather though & takes a long time to come down w/o a car on it.
This may be a upgraded version etc.
Good luck, John M....

Jerry, Have you checked out Quick Lifts? They cost below $1000.00, are extremely safe, and don't take up any room at all. I've used them and they look to be the best bang for the buck. They also come with lots of accessories. http://www.kwiklift.com/ Raprap 1940 ChoppedChevyCoupe

Hey RapRap, I just bought one of those quik lifts used from a local car club member. I'm wondering if it would be a good safety precaution to drill some mounting holes for some steel wheel chocks that could be put into place while raising or lowering the lift. I like the solid ramp design, and the fact that you can do trans and clutch work, among other stuff, while you're under there. That sissors lift would block all that stuff in the center of the vehicle. Havin' the hydraulic lift part would be cool, however. Later, Kinky6

Good point.
The 'sizors rack' is designed for Tire Shops and has limitations.
You just need to set the brake on the other.
The 'twin post' is the best, but expensive.
Good luck, John M.....

A buddy of mine has a four post lift that can be used inside under his low ceiling and rolled outside for full height lift. I thought about the sissor lift but you're still on your back and crawling out for the right tool. For a few hundred more I got the two post lift. It's outside so putting up a canopy affair for use in wet weather. Although where I live rarely gets into freezing. Check Hemmings for prices and really shop around, good deals are out there.
