I just saw this very cool Inliner from Ken Fenical (POSIES).
It's based "loosely" on a Chevy Fleetline that has been sliced and diced many times. It looks to have a very unusal inline 6 with a Rousch supercharged port injected system. Very high tech looking inline to say the least! If anyone has any additional info or specs on this way cool inliner, let's hear about it.

Drew,

I thought it was a Ford 300 or a hybrid Vortech.
Is that a cross flow head? Must be custom multi-port injection system or is it a stock unit?

What's that tube on the passenger side for? Is it twin supercharged or is that the intercooler tube.

M-m-m....I see now that it is not a crossflow head. The air intake tube from the blower wraps around the rear of the motor. That's quite a unique valve cover, I must say!!!!

Rap, Wish I had more info for you, but I've only seen the car thru a window at the shop sometime ago before it was as completed as is now. I just really like the aircraft rivet look.Did you notice the triple split exhaust manifold with the 3 tailpipes? Next time,spring maybe, I think I'll stop in under the guise that I can actually afford Posies stuff! \:D

It looks like they could have cut the stock efi lower intake.

Id really like to know what kinda numbers they're getting out of that engine and which engine management unit they are using.

Yeah, that Maroon rod is what I was thinking of building. It's a 2-door sedan rear section (or pickup) grafted onto a 5-window coupe shell. Another way I was planning on doing it was to cut down a 2-door sedan behind the front doors. Either way it's a really nice look I must agree.
The "thrice pipes" are a nice touch. I can see there was a lot of time and thought put into that section job too. That couldn't have been very easy to do.
When I was living in CA., a neighbor down the street took a VW bug, cut out 20" right down the center of the car, and welded it back. It really looked like a cartoon or a HotWheels car. It only was wide enough for one person wide and two deep (Tamdem}. A very odd looking vehicle that reminds me of this Fleetliner but it's on a larger scale. I'd love to see it in person. Is it still at Posie's shop?

I asked posies about the engine management and if there were any hard numbers for the engine, this was the reply, almost immediate reply, thats not normal. \:\)


We do not have any solid numbers on the engine as of yet but it is scheduled to go to ROUSH to have tuned and tested out there. Its is just a standard Holley fuel injection with a Supercharger and custom intake hooked up to it. The fins are just plates added to the top of the original valve cover.

I live about 60 miles from Posey's and have been there several times. They do some remarkable stuff, but I could never afford anything they do. I've bought springs, some LEDs and few other small goodies, but that's it.

I was down there one day and there was almost no one around. One of the office guys took me all around and showed me stuff that was being built...all good-looking fabrication, body work and paint. In one room the Futureliner was parked; it was amazing to see it without a bunch of people gawking at it. I was looking closely at the woodwork, which was nicely done, but I was amazed that there were knots in the wood! I pointed it out to the fellow showing me around...he smiled. He said, "That's not wood, it's all hand-painted fiberglass!" Sure fooled me!


Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

Posie's is one of the nicest shops I have ever visited it is not a fancy place but they build some very nice cars and yes a turn key car is expensive but they will sell you small parts and help you figure out how to use them. We stopped there a few years ago while on vacation and they showed us around thier entire operation, made us fell very welcome. Ken and his employees are true rodders and they build some great cars powered by nearly any thing you can think of. They built a very nice flathead with injection a few years ago, saw it at several shows. They are famous for their forward thinking and craftmanship.
As far as cost goes if you want a car built by one of the best and of magazine quality it is expensive.


Been there, Done that, Hope to live long enough to do it again.

Bill,

No truer words spoken, my friend. When it comes to innovative, unique, and quality work, you usually get what you pay for. I'd love to see Ken's shop. It sounds like a shop I would like.

Where in Ohio are you located? I'll be going to Columbus and Indy this year. Are you planning to attend? Maybe we could hook up or drive to the show together?

That Fleetline is a unique concept. It takes some imagination to look at one of those and see the end result in your mind. I let one of those slip away a few years ago. It had been hit in the front and the fenders were all junk but it would have been free for the taking. It was my late father in laws high school beater and had sat for many years until they needed to clear the land. Now I wish I had drug it home.
