I acquired a 1936 Pontiac 2 door touring sedan last week. It is in great shape for a 71 year old car, but I need some new wood for the doors. Does any one know of any sources for quality new wood? Thanks, Joe

Joe,

I've replaced wood in some Model As and one '30 Chevy. There are suppliers for them. However, I know of no one cutting out wood for your poncho.

I was wondering how close to a Chevrolet your car is?

Years ago, a friend rebuilt an old Franklin and had to use his old, rotten wood parts to make new wood for his car. Takes all kinds of wood-working tools and patience....and lots of time.

I know this isn't much help, but good luck on your endeavors.

Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

Joe

I got wood pieces from a man named David Entler about three years ago.
His info is either:
RD2 Glen Rock, PA 17327
cell - 717-968-2751
or:
Exeter, PA
800-373-3411

The only problem is I think he is older than my car (1935 Chev) so he may not be still around.
