I acquired a 1936 Pontiac 2 door touring sedan last week. It is in great shape for a 71 year old car, but I need some new wood for the doors. Does any one know of any sources for quality new wood? Thanks, Joe

i immediately see four advertisers in *Hemmings Motor News* who are suppliers of structural wood--page 210 in the current issue (December 2007).

A primary resource for early Pontiacs is the Pontiac Oakland Club International ( http://www.poci.org/ ). See the "Links" list at that site under the subheading "Restoration."

In that era Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick all share the same sets of body stampings and structural wood, with changes in exterior trim. i should guess that much of the structural wood in your two-door touring sedan and my '36 Olds four-door touring sedan would be identical.

God's Peace to you.
