Does anyone have any experience swapping a Ford 300ci six into a Maverick? I know that this can be done but want to know what kind of "challenges" I would have to deal with. Things like hood clearance, engine length, motor mounts, headers...blah blah...I am looking to build a street/strip car.

Thanks!

gene,

wish i could be of more help more, but i saw this very set-up several years ago, at a dragstrip in kentucky. the maverick was powered by a 300/5-speed and it would fly! he easily beat my buddy's nicely built '85 t-bird v8!

i talked to the owner and remember him saying with some basic mechanical and fabrication skills it was not a difficult swap. the dual exhausts on the maverick sure sounded sweet, too!

Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

was thinking of doing this with my futura at 1st glance it dosen't appear that i'll have any real clearance issues this is something i'm considering since these motors are readily available and parts are plentiful and the upgrade possibilites are endless.

If the ride is more fly you must buy.
