I need a small 4 for a Triumph Spitfire swap and would like to use the Neon turbo engine but it is FWD. If i get one and a Dakota trans, what's required?

Why don't you use the Dakota 2.5 four cylinder engine with a turbo setup off of a Lebaron/New Yorker engine. This will all go together with factory parts and is much cheaper. There is also some factory high performance parts for the 2.5 engine.

You might look for a salvage Jeep Liberty with the 2.4 and the manual transmission. I would like to try the 2.4 in an early A-body. The Dakota truck transmission gearing is not the best for your use.
