I have an intake from one of my customers that he wants me to sell. Looks brand new. Supposedly off of a late 30's flathead 6 chrylser. It is a 2 carb with 1 9/16" openings for the carbs. The exhaust ports (3) are 1 1/4" dia. The front runner has a single bolt hole at the 7 o'clock position: the centre one is also a single bolt at the 6 o'clock position and lastly the rear runner, also a single bolt at the 5 o'clock position. Distance from the bolt hole on the front runner to the bolt hole on the rear runner is 17". Apparently there are 2 different length engines? Have I described this one good enough for somebody to tell me what it is. I am going to advertise it in the classifieds for sale. Thanks....Don

You are describing a small block intake for all 218/230 Mopar flatheads (40's-50's).
There were numerous mfgrs, each with a little different design.(Offy, Edmunds, Tattersfield(sp?) and others. The small block has a 23" long head and the big block is 25".
The manifolds mount on the right side of the block so the front bolt hole is at the 5 oclock position. The picture is an early Edmunds with water heat.

That is the intake exactly even with the water heat tube. Sorry about the front and rear runner mixup, thats a General Motors thing that I grew up with. Any idea what is a fair price to ask for this intake or do you know anybody looking for one. It is real clean and half polished now but I know you could polish it up real easy.
Thanks....

Don;
Suggest you post this question on the P-15, D-24 forum at the following URL.

There are a bunch of folks who may have an interest in it that frequent that forum. I am sure someone will want it.

Hi Don,
That's the manifold I have on my Plymouth. It works great with the water heat. I don't know how much it's worth. Close to or maybe a little more than a new Offy?

Don-

I have the same Edmunds intake on my 230, I paid $195 for it on e-bay several years ago. New Offy intakes are around $180. The Edmunds intake with the water heat is much harder to find, as they aren't in production any more.
