For the last several years, I've been contemplating replacing the 3 speed in the '51 with a Pglide, but keeping the stock torque tube and rear end. I have (maybe) found a Pglide from a '54 car that is complete with the flywheel and torque converter. My question is will the Pglide match up to my stock torque tube? And what about the rear end ratio? It seems like I've read where the Pglide cars had a 3.55:1 rear end. Will the trans work with my 4.11? It also seems like I read that the torque tube set up was the same between the car and 1/2 ton truck. Is that right? Your help is greatly appreciated. TIA
