I recently picked up some NOS head gaskets GM part number 3901016. I don't remember these being discussed, and thought it might help with the 292 builds that are in process. They are metal on both sides with fiber center. IMO the Fel Pro 8006 that you usually get when ordering a 292 head gasket at your friendly local auto parts (FLAPs), isn't good for much more than 10.0:1 compression if that. What I've been using is the Fel Pro 8501PT1 listed for the integral head 292. The 8501 is a newer design using "PRINTOSEAL" around the head bolt holes and water passages, and seems to be good for more than 10:1. There is also the Fel Pro 1025 IIRC racing head gasket.
