Well, I had a small setback with my 36 Pontiac Tuesday nite. Running about 65, my OHC sprint six broke off an exhaust valve head -- instant $2000.00 boat anchor. I have found another engine not too far from here so I guess I'll start over.At least my cam, followers, and lash adjusters are still good. Joe

Joe, sorry to hear of your misfortune. You know that wouldn't happen if you trailered your car every where and it would be cheaper to fix if you ran 350 sbc. Salvage what you can and make us proud!! \:D Do you have pictures of your car?

I picked up the engine today. Don't know what shape it is in yet, but is complete down to PS pump and AC brackets. Low horsepower version, but I have all the sprint parts.

OK, I tore the engine down and it was in great shape. It is the low HP version, but it has been bored and has the high compression pistons in it. It had enough grease and stuff on it that it looked like it had a million miles on it, but the cylinders have no ridge and still has hone marks.I put rings, bearings, ground the valves, and put it in. I got it running Friday. It sounds and runs great. So we're back on the road again. I've driven it about 150 miles and no problems. When I get time to figure out how to do pictures on here, I'll put some up. Joe

Good for you! It sounds like you're ready for some good driving weather. I'll be driving around in the Panhandle in July. If I see a '36 Pontiac I'll try to keep up!
