I trying to identify the rear end in my 52 3/4 ton. I was very close to being able to drive it around the yard and went to bleed the brakes and the bleed screw snapped off (at least it made me think of spraying the other side with PB-Blaster). Since the truck had been sitting for 10 years I decided I might as well change out the wheel cylinder. The problem with that is I don't know what this rear came from. Previous owner said the guy before him put a nova rear in. He had so many trucks I can't trust his word.

Its a GM 12 bolt, number cast into the housing on the front passenger side is NF3896838. Cast number on the other side is GM 60. Stamped on the front top of the passenger side axle tube is THB W166 1 E. I did a search in google for the cast number, a few things came up, a few chevy trucks in the 60's to 70's range.

Some pictures to help

Looking at my Hollander, THB comes up as a 1971 C10 4x2 with a 12 bolt cover and 3.07 gears and posi.
If it had a 14 bolt cover, it would be a 1973 C20 4x4 with posi 4.56 gears.

There should be a number on the wheel cylinder itself that hopefully a parts store, or at least a dealership parts counter could look up as well...

Thanks again!
