What car magazines does everyone on here look at on a regular basis?

I'm a sucker for Ol' Skool Rodz, and Car Kulture Deluxe. My car doesn't really fit into that "scene", but I still have a soft spot for it...not sure why tho...

Otherwise, I really don't pick up many magazines from the store or subscribe.

I've bought "Road and Track" for better than forty years. IMO R&T provides the best overall coverage of the auto industry. There have been periods were I have bought just about every other hot rod magazine on the magazine rack. I still have most of them. :^)

After 12-Port News, which doesn't come often enough, i see Hemmings Motor News, Old Cars Weekly, Auto Restorer, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Road & Track, Generator & Distributor (VCCA), and Runabouts to Rockets (NAOC).

i used to take Rod & Custom; some of the cars were pretty, but most of it was promotion of the advertisers and their products, and i had no use for most of that. i have a fair collection of Hot Rod from the 1950s, and i wish that would come every month, along with the early Road & Track. Now that would be something to look for in the mail!

God's Peace to you.

If anyone has any 1948-49 vintage "Hot Rod Magazine", I would be interested. I just need a few issues to fill out the collection.
Thanks

I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one who is a fan of OSR and CKD. I'm in the process of trying to get published through them, so keep your eyes open - I'll be sure to let everyone know. haha.

Also, what is your opinion of Rebel Rods? I see it at the bookstore where I get my mags, but I haven't picked up a copy yet. Worth it?

Also, Old Cars Weekly, out of Iola, Wis? A very good publication, with good people running it. I've had contact with the editor for getting some articles published.

(Side note - I'm a college student going into written communications, which would explain why I'm always trying to get published..etc. Just to clarify.)

Sam, I like Rebel Rods. It's kind of like OSR only more about cars than culture. Good luck with your writing. I once thought I was going to be a writer but I never got past BSing about it.

Not long ago, when I was working with Honest Charley Speed Shop, I wrote for a street rod magazine, and before long it grew to writing for (4)magazines at one time. Alan Mayes from OSR was a good friend of mine, and lived pretty close by, and offered me a writing opportunity with that magazine as well, but (4)magazines was almost overwhelming at times, and making it (5)would have been just too much. Good luck with yours Sam.

The only one I subscribe to is 12 Port News. Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's Car Craft and Rod & Custom were my favorites. Once I got involved in drag racing Super Stock & Drag Illustrated was a must read. Oh, and I do take Hemmings Online.
