Yesterday I attended a metal working workshop given by Ron Covell. It was a very interesting day and I learned a lot. In the course of about 7 hours, he produced a finder like the rear of a ’36 Ford or VW bug out of steel.
About 5 hours in, it really wasn’t going well and he was over an inch out of shape compared to the form checking buck he had made out of fiberboard (MDF). He tried just forcing it onto the buck but all he got was a wrinkled mess. Kind of like the old cooking show where the dish catches fire. Unlike those shows however, he was able to straighten it all out and it looked good but the end of the day. Wonderful to watch a master at work! I really recommend it: http://www.covell.biz/
Ron was wearing a T shirt with a really nice design from a business I wasn’t familiar with; Seret Speed and Custom. When I got home, I goggled it. They don’t seem to have a website but check these great projects:
