Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines Dual carbs for a 250. Recomendations?

I have a 250 in my 50 Chevy. I would like to convert to a dual carbs. I will use an Offenhauser intake but not sure which carbs to go with. I saw the Holley/Webers on Tom Langdons site. They look good and are priced within my means. I am wondering if they will be "to much carb" for my motor. And suggestions? Thanks, Todd

Those carbs will work fine w/good mileage.

The carbs are not that big.

I say go for it.

Not off the top of my head.

I will guess & say 350 CFM tops.

Probably closer to 250-300 range. Just a guess though.

The Holley Weber 5200 2 barrel is rated at 190 cfm @ 1.5" Hg (4 barrel spec condition), and 270 cfm @ 3.0" Hg (2 barrel spec condition).

I ran 2 of these on a Plymouth 230CI flathead 6 and had no issues for over fueling.

If you're not married to the carb idea you could run twin TBI units W/ Megasquirt.
