Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines 235 Thermostat Housing Question

Is the thermostat housing on a 1954 235 Chevy the same as anything else? Like a SBC. Mine is cracked and I was hoping to be able to pick one up locally.

Its from a 54 truck if it matters.

The top half will interchange, but the angle of the hose connection is different. A small block mopar housing is straight up, and will bolt up also.

Those part out on ebay all the time. There's almost always one listed:

Some are in better shape then others. I think an SBC will bolt up but there is no heater hose fitting (it's on intake manifold on v-thingies) and like gearhead says it angles toward the rad and right so the hose will sit weird.
