I've researched the marine 292 H.O., but all I could find was that it produces 195 HP. Can anyone give me the specs on this engine? Cam specs? Head mods? How did they get almost 200 horse out of that engine? Was it maxed out for power? Or will it go even higher easily? Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

The 292 H.O. camshaft was a Mercruiser P/N 430-3663, with 262 degrees total duration and 0.442" lift. You may contact Mercruiser for more specs.

Tom Langdon at http://www.stoveboltengineco.com sells a camshaft which he lists as the "292 H.O. Marine". Tom is a retired GM engine development engineer with lots of dyno experience. He would be a good resource on this engine.
