Hi guys, just found this site while looking for inliner stuff, not sure if this is the right place to be posting, but i couldn't find a newby section.
seeing as this is my first post i thought i had better do an intro,
anyway my name is Brett, most people call me barnsey, I live in the central west of N.S.W Australia, I am a floorsander polisher and run my own buissness, I am into hotrods customs and all types of motor sports, I own a 1948 ozzy bodied Vauxhall, it is powered by a 3.3ltr 202 holden inline six, it is running an eaton M90 supercharger on straight, or dedicated LPG mephane gas, the new combo should be putting out between 320 and 340 hp, but i am yet to have it dynoed. it is running between 10 to 12 lb boost and has been built to rev to 7000+ rpm, after building this engine, the rest of the car has now been undergoing a full rebuild to cope with the extra hp.
ie chassis strengthening brake upgrades ect ect.
anyway i hope that my intro is ok and posted in the right area, I look forward to checkng out your rides and engine combo's.
cheers barnsey

Welcome. \:\)

What are you planning for tail lights (I see what look like 6 tail light holes)?

Looks nice, I've seen the vid of the engine (HAMB?) very nice.

I was aiming at making the car a bit more smoother at the rear, so i cut a few holes accross the back, then welded in some exhaust pipe to house the lights, I wanted to use the caddy lights, but thought better of it, as they would of stuck out too far and made good leg scrapers if someone walked too close, so i decided to keep the lights back a bit (frenched)
I have learnt a lot during the rebuild of this car, mostley by trial and error. I couldn't afford to have someone do the work for me, so i decided to have a go at it myself. I have also removed the headlamps off the grill shell, and replaced them with a set of guides that now mount off a frenched bracket i made and frenched into the top of front fenders.
Tail lights have gone from this.

To this, they are just trailer lights, that will have a chrome ring around them.

Barnsey,

Very nice work! It's always great to see another man's handiwork.
I'm very interested in how you mounted the supercharger. Can you show more photos on how it's mounted? I guess you got from a T-bird?Pontiac?Holden? Are you using the original throttle body?

Looks clean and kool my inline friend!
Welcome!

Hi Will6er,
sounds good, i will look into it.

Hi Rap
a freind of mine built the engine for me, he used twin 200 impco gas mixers(276 cfm each) mounted on a home made adapter, mounted to a 600 holley throttle plate.
There are lots of pics and info at this link,
it basicly is a build thred from start to almost finish, and has lots of pics of the buld to date.

I hope that posting this link doesn't upset anyone, if so let me know and i will remove it. I just thought it might save me from clogging up this forum with all the pics.

That's a great car! Nice to see peoples rides from other countries. New eye candy is always welcome. Also thanks for the pics of the motor. Great ideas at work there.

WOW, great link and pictures. You'll have to tell us all about the complete build. Links are only a problem when they are a basic advertisement. Kool Stuff!!

Barnsey, that highway shot looks something like between Dubbo and Parkes, would that be right?

I get into that area occasionally.

And your Vauxhall reminds me of a similar one I had pass me on the Bell's Line of Road back in 1965. It had a grey Holden in it, then later in the very slippery conditions we came across it lying on its side. Suicide doors are not a good thing at that sort of a time!

The highway shot was taken on the way home from the CRAKK rod run in Canberra, it was just outside of canberra, the Lavender 34 5 window aussi bodied coupe, and the orange T bucket are from dubbo, the guy taking the pic was in an A model tudor, he was on his way back to Bacchus march in Victoria.
few pics of the run here. http://www.hotrodmattimages.com/eventgals/crakk08/index.html

Hi guys, been a while since i have been around here, I crashed my old computer and lost all my data, but i have found this site again and now have a new computer \:\)
well I have finally started to work on my car again the past few weeks after being to busy with work commitments to find enough time to get out in the shed, but thing are starting to move forward again,
most of the interior trim has been done and is sitting in the spare room waiting for me to finish the rest of the car, I also changed superchargers and am now going to use a B&M 144 that i picked up cheap from eBay.
this week i have been out in the shed every afternoon and have painted the firewall purple to match the rest of the car, I also started to repaint and detail the engine and its starting to look a lot better and the new color also matches the body color, I will fit the new gearbox and stall converter up tomorrow afternoon and hopefully have it back in the car over the weekend, then i can detail the supercharger and fit it back up to the engine as well, anyway I will keep you updated as i go, I have set myself a goal to have it finished and back on the road before Xmas, I miss driving it and attending runs, the more shed time i can get the quicker it will be on the road, anyway here's a couple of pics of the engine after applying the new color.
cheers barnsey.

Very nice. Is that metal flake? It looks so '60s. The Vauxall is really a good looking car. Does the Holden have an external oil pump? Beater

the 202 holden is a 3.3 ltr engine, you can squeez some good HP out of them too, mine has around 320 to 340 flywheel hp on straight lpg

This one here in an old 1958 FC Holden has 555 rear wheel HP.
It runs 9's and 138 mph over the full quarter mile

this video might give you a bit more info.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPJpoRVmRT0
and here are the spec for an old 58 holden fc
but i would imagine the car being a bit heavier than stock as it would now have a chassis kit added and bigger wheels ect ect.
its an awsome old car just the same.
