A friend has a 292 he just bought. The engine is disassembled but the machine work is done.Looks like 9-1 propane pistons,The head ports are cleaned up but not lump port, bigger intake valves, probably 1.84 from looking at it.Comp hydraulic cam, something like 215 degrees at .050 lift. The machine work looks very nice, especially the valve work, block was decked a bit ,probably for compression height. He has a single 4 bbl intake and short tube headers.
He wonders about the engine power with these modifications.I figure about 230 HP at 4600 rpm ?Maybe 310 ft lbs of torque at 3000 rpm?

310-320 tq for most of the rpm range. The head will hold him back, maybe 240-245 hp. Work the head up with some bolt in lumps and porting to see around 270-280. Maybe more. Tom
