What engine? By "stock" do you mean from the OEM or after market replacement?

It is a 250. I would like to go with OEM... unless I can find a good blower-cam.

Most camshaft manufacturers will provide a custom grind camshaft for a forced induction engine.

Also, under the 'Tech Tips' section of this forum there is section with a number of camshaft specifications titled 'Cam Specs, 250" Series Engines'.

I tried the Tech tips and it doesn't go anywhere... When I click on it it go to a blank screen.

The only reason I have been looking for a stock grind is that I was told I need a near stock spec for the supercharge to work the best. Since there is almost no overlap.

Too many variables: how well does the head flow, what's the static CR, and especially how much boost?

I am going to be using the stock head for now... while I am building the performance one... it is fully ported, intake bosses removed, 1.94 1.60 valves, undecided on the lump.

C/R is going to be 8-8.5:1... depending on the pistons I can find. I still have not found the forged pistons.

Boost is going to start at 5.5psi while the engine is breaking in. Then it is going to be 10psi!

Greetings . . .

I've read the same about overlap and blowers:
ChevyPerformance - Take Charge
but you may well be able to go with a bit more duration then stock and still avoid excessive overlap.

And apparently a dual-pattern grind is best - with longer duration on the exhaust lobe so that everything you pump-in has time to get-out.

regards,

The lobe separation angle is how excess overlap is controlled with long duration cams. As the duration goes up, spreading the lobes (higher number LSA like 112, 114°) reduces the overlap effect compared to the same duration with 106, 108°.

I would call delta cams in Tacoma washington and tell them you want a hydraulic cam with a 268 comp intake lobe, a 280 comp exhaust lobe, ground on a 114, with 4 deg of advance. That would probably be inexpensive and run well with a small blower on a mild engine. Aren't you trying to put an M90 on a 250?

Dodgycanuc,

I believe there is more than one way to access this forum board. On way allows access to the blue side panel subjects, while logging on the other way does not. I am on by "www.inliners.org"

Someone may also chime in to help here.
