All the factory drawings, photos, etc. show between 1-2 threads visible below the rocker arm as "normal".
However, the adjuster hole is larger in ID than the ball itself, permitting the ball to be withdrawn up into the rocker body and leaving just enough length to permit angularity between the rocker and the pushrod cup (although I've never seen it done).
If a longer pushrod is used to make up the proper distance, this increases the rocker ratio slightly.
Does anyone know the exact adjuster position when the official 1.477:1 rocker ratio is calculated, or how many threads show with a proper adjustment on a new engine?
