On the way back from a junkyard excursion, the plastic drain plug on the radiator of my '82 C-20 blew off. I already did some measurements a while back for changing the radiator over to an aluminum one from Be Cool. The radiator dimensions match the largest universal Be Cool radiator The inlet measures out to 1.5"; which is also the same as the aluminum radiator. I will measure the outlet at the water pump when the truck cools down. They also have a direct fit radiator for my truck (although it's for a sbc), but it's $500 vs. $200 for the universal. I'm thinking about getting the universal since it basically matches my stock measurements. What do you guys think; am I missing anything here? Oh yeah, I have a manual tranny, so that's not a problem. Thanks for any input or advice you guys can give me. \:\)

I am using an aluminum universal radiator in my mustang and my 56.

I'll probably go with the Be Cool universal. If it works on this truck, I will use aluminum radiators for my other projects. I would go with a copper replacement with more rows, but I had bad luck with them in the past. It (4-row) couldn't keep up with a stock, but mean 305 sbc (yes, 305) in the summer and ran far too cold in the winter with the core completely blocked.
