Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines How much play in a dist is ok?

I finally found the two HEI distributors I promised Snowman I'd dig up for him. While I was taking pics, it seemed like both of them had a lot of endplay. I didn't put a feeler gauge on them or anything, but it's got to be .050". They were both about the same. What is the spec for this or is it a big deal? Now I'm curious. Pics:

Not a big deal & it is simple to decrease the gap/play.

Add some shim/s,but not too tight,don't know the stock spec,but they all have end play.
