What would be the compresion raito on a stock 250 or a 292 be If I used A stock 194 head with 62.03 cc? Any disadvantage ? Thanks

use the CID/Compression tool
just put the info in the calculator and presto instant compression ratio http://www.thedirtforum.com/toolbox.htm

Before useing this head one other thing you need to think about. And that is what type/kind of pistion do you plan on useing a stock dished piston Or a a TRUE flat top. Yes it Does Make a Difference big time.

i don't know what year head you plan on using, but the early 194 heads had siamesed exhaust ports. bit of a disadvantage as far as flow goes. would get you somewhere around 10:1 (maybe a little higher) on a 250.

Thanks for the info. I do not have siamesed exhaust ports,and plan to use it on a 250 or 292 with stock pistons

There are at least 2 different stock pistons, low compression (full dish to top of piston), and high compression ( 'D' shaped dish to piston). There will be a .5 to full point difference in compression.
