just got a '67 C10, and am wondering about the displacement of the 6 thats in it.

i found the number : 677127
GM
behind the distibutor on the block. and there was another number farther back..but its raining, so i couldn'theya check. i got the number off of the door side post on a plate : CS147 J 148740
but that just tells about the truck, where it was made, etc. i'd really like to know what size engine this has..so, any info would be appreciated of where to look for numbers, or if the above numbers mean anything.

thanx, Samwise.

Dear Mr. Wise;

If you check the left margin of our site & click on Casting#'s, all will become clear.

Good luck, John M...

A quick check is if the side covers are 6" high it's a 292, otherwise a 230/250. When the rain stops check for the casting number to the right of the dip stick.

Dear Sam;

Larry says; "just to the right of the dip stick".

Then check that # against the list.

Good luck, John M.....
