Hi,all. Ive got a 67 chevy stepper with a 292.Ive gotten Langdons cast iron manifolds and a new Offy 4 bbl intake.I found a Holley 390 carb used. The carb is probably from the 80s and is not very pretty. When this setup is on my truck the carb will look nasty compared to the intake and manifolds.Eastwood sells a carb paint but the buyers of it says not to.What can I do for my carb to clean it up? Thanks for any and all replies. Muley

I've used Eastwoods carb paint with good results?? Just apply light coats and don't coat the inside, shafts or linkage where they stop working. the only other choice I can think of that works is to disassemble the carb and send the body out for annodizing. unless it's a show car I don't think I'd go to that extreme. And if you leave the masking tape on too long Beater has a way to remove it.

Powder coating may be an alternative.

Cardinal makes a tough industrial paint that would work. I don't know where to get it.

My new tape removal shop will open soon. \:\)

How are you planning to clean it prior to painting?

I've bead blasted carbs before, and I hear soda blasting works great. Cleanup afterwards is a pain. And you best block all orifices and openings where the blast media could get in.

Looks good enough for me after blasting, only needing some sort of tough clearcoat. I haven't found a durable paint yet so I'm following this thread too \:\)
