Ive got a 69 c30 and no engine. Will the shifter linkage from an 81 3/4 ton work? The 81 is a 6 cyl/granny trans. The 69 has no linkage from the clutch pedal to the trans.I could put the engine/trans combo into my c30, just dont know if the linkage will work. Thanks everybody for any info. Muley

You do have the clutch pedal?

You will need the rod from the clutch pedal to the 'Z' bar, the 'Z' bar, and brackets to mount the bar to engine and frame. Also the rod from the 'Z' bar to clutch fork. There are some difference in 'Z' bars, so I suspect that the 81 won't interchange to the 69. It would be worth a try if both trucks are non-op.

Thanks for your reply,Larry. My c30 has nothing but the gearbox,I picked up a bellhousing later on.The PO of the c30 kept everything else.AFAIK the 81 is a running truck, just rusted out.
I hoped I could put the drivetrain from it in my c30 just to get it on the road.Surely there cant be that much difference in the linkage setup on these trucks.I have a Z bar from a 67/72, itll need rebuilt.Oh, yeah, I do have the clutch pedal.Again, sir, thanks for your info. Muley
