First off, let me start by introducing myself. I am new to this site but have dabbled around the Hamb. I first caught wind of Inliners while doing research on what engine I wanted to put in my 31' Chevy Coupe. I was really drawn to the simplicity and flow of a six. After some research I have decided on a 250. So far here is the plan Clifford 264 cam, Stovebolt cast iron headers, offy 2x1 heated intake with dual 32-36 Webers, HEI. What valves, pistons, head work, etc. would you recommend for a motor which makes a little power but is still street worthy. I'm backing it up with a T5 and would like get close to 20 mpg. Thanks in advance.

The head is where reliable power can be found.
Start with 1.84/ 1.6 valves option 1.94 intakes
Hardened exh seats
New guides
Head cut .030
Roller rockers as a option
Bolt in lumps
Porting

Flat top pistons to help get compression up.
Hone the block with a deck plate!

This work with your other parts mentioned will make that 31 down right lively!

I currently have a similarly built 250 in a 65 Chevelle wagon that gets 20 mpg going 75 mph. You will be lighter.

YOU BETTER MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD ENGINE TO START OFF WITH 1ST THING. THER BAD TO CRACK HEADS AND WEAR FRONT 2 CYLINDER OUT.

Thanks for the advice Tom. This is the exact sort of info I was looking for. I had talked to Larry with Clifford, but I just wanted to see other peoples advice on the matter. Sounds very similar to what he recommended. I enjoyed your dyno video's on your site as well.
