In Leo's book, he shows a distributor that he claims is down thrust. As I look at the other photos, the angle of the drive gears is opposite to the one that is supposed to be down thrust. Does anyone know if the stock distributor is down or up thrust?

Never mind. It appears that the photo got revered in the publishing process.
If I had taken a moment to think it through, it would have been obvious that Chevy 6 distributors are down thrust because the side of the camshaft that drives the distributor is rotating down where they mesh. Duh.

Sorry I wasted your time.

Didn't waste my time. It got me thinking about it too.
