Hey guys getting ready to drop my 250 back in to my GMC and seems I am missing a sensor. Can anyone tell me what it is?

This is an image I found online but the sensor I am missing is right behind the first bolt on the back push rod cover. Is it important? can I just block it off?

Thanks,
Dustin

No picture, but from your description. Oil pressure sending unit. You might want it hooked up.

here is the link if that helps, I thought the oil pressure sender was a little further back by the dipstick, this one looked like it had vacuum lines running to it,

Should be a pipe plug if it's a pressure port.
