I read some time back about a fix/upgrade to thread studs into the bottom of the 235 so you can remove the cover without having to drop the oil pan? anyone have a link or pictures of this? John

this is simple fix,, been doiong this to my 302 gmc,s for 25 years first with cover removed drill &tap 2 stud holes in main cap to 3/8 thread,eather coars or fine thread.... next drill cover to 13/32,,,, you then can use earther 2 short bolts or as i do ,2 short studs installed into main cap this way you remove cover without removing pan.....

If you go to trifive.com and do a search for "first engine rebuild 235" I posted some pics of the process. If you send me a email address I think I still have the pics, and will send them to you if you will post them here, I have not quite figured out haow to post pictures.
