I just finished reading The Special by J. E. Pendleton. It is a historical novel set in WWII. I usually don't read novels as I am more of a history buff. However, this book was presented to me by the author who happens to be president of our area Inliners chapter. I started reading and had trouble putting it down. The story is woven around historical facts. Lots of history of early day dry lakes racing and WWII military aviation. And a love story to boot. I highly recommend it.

Read some reviews on Jim's website. You can order a signed copy from him or you can get the Kindle version from Amazon.

OK Cletis I bought one. There is an Inliner discount. Scott Marshall has a mystery novel out too. There is a lot of talent here.

I finally finished "The Special" by J E Pendleton. It was a really fun book to read. It was especially interesting for me because it was of a time when, like the main character, my parents had gone to Southern California from Texas to build airplanes for WWII. That is why I was born there near where Hank lives. Also it was an uncle that got my brother and me into hot rodding. The book has a love interest amongst hot rod history and the great war. My book also came with a nice inscription from the author. All in all a lot of enjoyment. I recommend it to you all.
