Inliners International Forums General Discussion Hi Performance Do these pistons look stock?

A guy gave me a 250 the other day. It's still in a '72 C-10, but he said it had never been opened up before. I decided to see if I could see any over-size stamps on the tops of the pistons. I couldn't see any markings, but I thought these looked like factory standard-sized pistons. Any thoughts? The head gasket is genuine GM also. Again, could that be the original? And one more question-core shift? Leo's book says to look for a uniform 3/8" wide machine behind the water pump, but this one is kinda wild. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth pulling out and building. Thanks.

Looks stock to me.
I say go ahead & build it.

Probably not much more than stock (sorry-I posted this in the H/P section by mistake)
I will be needing a replacement for the 250 in my '68 C-10 at some point. It still runs great, but is starting to use a little oil. I like to have another ready to go when the time comes. But on the other hand, it would be fun to juice it up a little. It's just so hard to find good blocks that ain't already 40 or 60 over. I suppose I'll go ahead and pull it out and make sure.

from the looks of the ridge line at the top of the bore and No stampings on the piston top. I'd say stock as well.
