i just putt a hei distributor in, and when its running it wobels,i suspect a bushing problem. could a loose cam gear cause this sort of problem? thanks for any help.

I once had a 235 Chevy six with a wobble in the distributor.I did not replace it right away and it sheared all the teeth off My camshaft distributor drive gear,thus ruining the cam.Was cause by a bent distributor shaft.Remove it till You find out the problem. EvilDr235

it wobbeld with the stock disributor also,just not as noticeable.

Almost always that's a bent shaft.
In the past something strange may have hapened to the block or the oil pump mounting bracket inside. Or I suppose the pump itself has come loose.
The 216's used to wobble sometimes but I always figuered that was poor quailty control in the l930's.
