Is a Melling 62-S6 pickup tube compatible with all 292 engines? Mine is a 66, but Melling doesn't go that far back, but select a newer year and the part number appears to be the same from 70s into the 80s engines. I was going to reuse my old one, but if Melling has new ones I may as well have all new in my new engine.

Not absolutely sure but. The pans are the same the pumps are the same, why would the pickups not be the same? If your old pickup is good just clean it up and reuse it. It is not a part that typically wears out.

Thanks. That was my thoughts as well. It's not like they had many variations on the 292. I was planning to reuse the old one, but if for some reason it is really gummed up and won't clean up, I want the option to buy a new one.
