With a test light check for voltage from battery through ign switch etc, also timing, plug wires etc. If all else fails review basic tune up specs, valves, compressions, fuel pump. Clogged fuel filter?????
Good luck

the engine starts fine when i pull #1 or#2 plug whires whith the engine running it doesn't change anything. if i pull one of the other plug whires you can definately tell a difference.i have checked spark at the wire it's good. true the plug it's good, compression, valves, firing order, timing everything checks out. the only thing i can't tell for sure is if any fuel is getting from the carb to the #!,#2 intake port.i even pressurised the cylinders whith the intake valves open to make sure air was flowing it is.

Check to see if the valve lift on one and two is the same as the other valves, worn lobes? A head gasket problem between one and two, maybe?

B,I had a problem with a 230. Cylinders 1-4 ran but not 5 & 6 . Turned out to be a bad intake manifold to head gasket or manifold bolts not tight.

thank you for all your input. still confident in everything except fuel getting to 1&2 today i removed the intake looked pretty wet so i shined a flashlight into the intake thru 1&2 and discoverd a 6" crack on the bottom outside corner, and the bottom inside corner of 1&2. not sure if this is the problem but i removed the intake and dropped it off at one the original dirt trackers, and now waiting for his mojo to dry. let you all now what happens hope i don't need a intake.
