The 235 is about ready to come home from the engine shop. I will use the flywheel, bellhousing, clutch and starter from the 216. Do I need to use new bolts to attach these items? I think I need new bolts for the flywheel anyway, as the old ones were a little rounded. Where can I get new bolts and the plates with the bend up tabs for the flywheel? Also the plates with the tabs on the cap screws on the universal joint?

Any tips and suggestions will be welcome. Bill

Dear Bill;

The U-Joint kit is #3723489 at Chevs. of the 40s. They also have the gasket set for the torque tube.

The flywheel bolts are okay if you 'dress' them up with a file & use a 6 point socket to install. Use the lock plates over or make new if their no good etc.

Do NOT use 'locktite' or lock washers on the flywheel as it WILL come loose.

Good luck. \:\)
