Well the machinist called with some bad news. One of the exhaust ports has what he called "spider web cracks" I went up and looked at it and its a few cracks in an area of about 2 quarters laying next to each other. The weird thing is they are on the inside of the port, the outside of the port has one little crack about a 1/4" or less. Anyways he claims it can be repaired by "spray welding" the area. What are your thoughts? Can this be repaired or do I need to find another head?

thanks vince

spray welding can Be done. BUT you are just better off Finding a new Head. You will be much happier in the LONG run. and You won't have to worry about issues later down the road.

Thanks larry thats what I was afraid of. Shoot it only took me 8 months to find this one.
Everyone I ask if they know where I can find one tell me good luck your better off putting a V8 in it,you know you can go to GM and buy a crate motor.
I guess they don't get it, anyone can go buy a crate motor, but what fun is that?
I want to keep my inline and build my own motor, thank you.

Sorry guys got a little side tracked.

I've got one you could have if you paid shipping. It ran fine, except one of the rocker arm studs will need to be replaced with a screw-in stud as it was pulling out.

Sorry guys computer problems.
Its a intergrated head with 5 smog hole tubes.

Thanks Brad, can you check it for 5 smog holes?

I've been thinking of just having it welded. The machinist said everything else is ok just do a valve job and mill the head flat.Might be the cheapest and easiest way for me to go.
