Does anyone know or have had experience marrying a 292 Chevy engine (circa 1965 Chevy PU) with a 5 speed manual transmission? Are there some that marry better or that might be recommended?

PU came with the 4spd manual floor shift tranny.

Thanks for your assistance!

Yes; this has been done (often) here.

You may check the past postings under 'drive train' here for ALL the details.

Don't get tricked into a "tall" rear end ratio with it. You'll need the lower gearing for the load(s) you (will) carry in the furure.

Many try to make cars out of trucks, or don't know the difference.

Good luck. \:\)
