I was wandering if the crank from a 292 would fit in the 250. And if so would there be any clearance issues.

It can be machined to fit, but then you will have a bad rod to stroke ratio.
Mucho $$$ for the machine work

Better just to use the 292 block,it is 1.750" taller than the 194-250 engines.

Check Clifford Performance use to have a set of pistons for a 292 crank in a 250. I checked their web site and didn't see it.

I do not think anyone stocks that type of piston.
You would need to order custom pistons.

Tom Langdon used to sell a kit Crank and pistons
for around 1000.bucks??But why build a LOW deck 292? why not just build a 292 itself?Then you would not be worrying about the 250 block cracking over the water pump area On the intake side were some of these blocks are prone to cracking. Plus you don't have to worry about the crank trying to push the rods out the side of the block.Just my 2cents.

Thanks for the replys. I don't really know much about these engines. I was thinking that since the 230-250-292 are generally always grouped together that they might all have the same blocks. It definitely would not be worth the money.

No the 292 is 1 3/4 taller. Which also gives it more meat Over the water pump area. Heads,intakes,dist,Trannys,Stuff like that will interchange.

There are a few people that have done it with the Pontiac 250 OHC engine. Bad rod length, but ads about 50 cu. in. to the cammer engine.
