I wound up with a 700r4/4L60e out of a 92 S10. Seeing that I got the trucks mechanicals on a trade I'll use what I can instead of a T5, what do I need to salvage from the S 10 and what parts do I need to get from a 250? Flex-plate, torque converter, wiring harness, etc. This going in a '63 Nova wagon.

if i understand correctly the 92 4l60e is a computer shifter tranny. you may need to find a earlier vintage tranny to work without the aid of a computer. tom

I"m going by the build sheet that I got outof the seat. Will probably add all of it to the future projects pile and start looking for an older transfor the swap. Thanx.

If the trans has only a 4-pin connection, then no E. If the trans has the 20ish pin connection, you will need a tranny computer

The big issue will be mating the v6 trans to the 250 as the starter holes are in different locations.

Just an FYI, the older T5-basics that were in monte carlo's, cutlases, monza's, etc. are another option. These had the 3-speed + 2 pattern. There is one on the shelves of my local salvage yard, came out of a mid 70's Monza. $125. I know from first hand experience that they live behind 300Hp v6's and mildy built 283's. would bolt up straight to the 250's existing bellhousing

Shipping would be about $40

Are they coarse or fine splined input shafts? Cable speedo's?
