"Beats me too"

I've been haunting them over a year now. I wanted one to mount on their manifolds like the Holly. It was suposed to be out in January of this year but, "no go".

That was info from November of 2002. Since then; No one knows anything about it.

Now there's another Wayne repro. perhaps their working that direction & could be how the 'multi port' rumor got started too.

Evently one will come from somewhere.

When I was asking about intakes for my 292, Larry at Clifford relayed the following information . . .

"check out our new Multi point fuel injection. You can fine tune while you drive to find all the sweet spots at every RPM level. We are even working on crank triggers and coil packs with this system. No distributor. System cost is $1,995.00 and includes Intake. 08-7050-C is your part # for the fuel injection"

Dear Ken;

That's the ticket, all right.

What a price tag though. Add a 'grand' for a laptop & you in it $3K just for the parts. Labor & testing could be another $500, plus the time involed which is even more expensive.

I doubt it's worth the cost(s)over the Holly which is about $900 or a big carb (used) for a hundred bucks.

Thanks, John M., #3370.

PS: Happy New Year to all!

Yeah it seems a little ridiculous. Clifford manifolds are already produced with the added manifold surface area for the bungs to be drilled. Basically its drilling and adding some injectors/rails/fuelpump and they are charging out the wazoooooo. I could see that price if they had to fabricate something new.....but they dont have to produce anything new for it. Its basically bolt on GM fuel injection and some software to run it.

You would think that Clifford would attempt to discourage people from doing a Junkyard GM setup with a little more competatively priced setup........

How do they think they are going to sell these to anyone who can fit a TPI350 or Vortec for much cheaper? I mean i might consider it if i had a smaller engine bay that required a small inline6....but for $1900bucks--->you can be sure im dumping the 292 and bolting up some real v-8 performance.
NOt to be a dis-the-6-er.....but the beauty of the str8-6 for me is its bang-for-the-buckability which this option definitely is not.

mmmm...interesting...close to Vendor bashing here ,is it?????-see Below....without Cliffords research and products from the past, where would we be today?...if we buy from them maybe prices can go down-economics....Clifford should be supported and respected-they have sent me customers and can help you also....isnt it "Dont bite the hand that feeds you and/or has fed you..."
