Wasn't much but enough. Scarry though, cuz a fragment was lodged up in the "cup" area where the pushrod's tip mates with the Crane roller rockers and more importantly where the oil passes!!!

I went to PAW and the ones they had were a bit shorter. I tried one and when trying to tighten the rocker arm, it bottomed out. There was still a little play up and down and also twisting when checking zero lash. Couldnt' use them. Don't remember the measurement. But was off a bit.

The ones I presently have I got from Clifford a few years ago. I might have to go back again on Monday only cuz I need my ride for work Tuesday-Friday. Taking Monday off to drive to Tememcula. Kinda scared cuz I'm really not sure what I'm gettin or got from them...They usually don't tell you the brand.

Do comp cams or crane make custom pushrods?

I was thinking of changing over to a roller rocker. Of all the things that I thought I would have to change the pushrods were only on my radar because of changes in the length. What makes a roller rocker push rod different?

First off, what's up HOMETOWN! Nova Conv, I'm up near Griffith Park just off the 5. Those of us near the Los and OC areas should get together and check out eachothers powerplants.

I wanted to meet Hudson not too long ago at Irwindale but had a driveline failure (driveshaft) and just recently this pushrod deal. Must be the stars. Not in alignment...or I should stop pushing the motor past 4500rpm.

TW6:
The pushrods (I got from Clifford) the engine has now are for roller rockers. The one that was damaged the most measured 9 5/8". Close to stock from what the people at PAW told me.

The rest of the pushrods measure 9 11/16"!

It looks like it lost 1/16" of material. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong please) That's not cool. I'm going to take pictures and post them. 3 other pushrods showed "dents" on the tips...

Do I need a longer length?

Here is the picture I took. Just scroll down to the bottom. There is a comparison of the one that failed and one that didn't.

The tips are different over a stock push rod. Then that of a roller rocker push rod. Most roller rocker push rods have more of a ball style/type tip That have a lite groove just below the tip so that the roller rocker does not cut into it like it can to a stock push rod. Most stock push rods do not have a ball type/style tip to them. They are just rounded off at the tip with square sides (no groove) Hope this helps }[oooooo]

Ps.
I have a new set on order for my new motor I will get a picture of both stock and after market(roller rocker rods) and send to those who would like to see the differences.
So just Email me and I'll send you a pic.
