Hi everyone here,...does anyone know where I can find out a Shaft-Mounted Roller Rocker arms for my inline six Chevy late 250-292 racing engines ? I have tried JESEL, but up to this time I' ve got no reply from this people, so I hope you can help me out ! Any input would be very appreciated !

Instead of converting to a shaft system why not just add a stud girdle to your present roller rocker setup? Cheaper, easier, and parts are more readily available.

As far as I know Stud Girdles does not have the same function of that Shaft Mounted Rockers, so that these function more as a valve train stabilizer, however guide plates functions more similar to Shaft Mounted Rockers, since they hinder lateral motion them rockers. In any way, I am thankful for your opinion.

Hi Maldonado,

I'm having Mr. Deppe use a T&D shaft rocker system for my head. You might want to contact him or T&D directly and see how things are coming.

What I can tell you at this point is the ends of the shaft will stick out far enough to interfere with the stock sheet metal cover. You will need to make a custom cover if you go with a shaft on an iron head.

Nice to hearing from you back again. As for the shaft mounted rocker system sticking out far enough to interfere with the stock sheet valve cover, this is not a problem because in my Machine Shop, we have a Casting to produce our Aluminum Tall Valve Covers and some intake manifolds for the late inline six Chevy engines. Somehow, I'd like to know if you can get the address, telephone or Web Page from T&D MACHINE. Thanks very much for the reply.

Thanks for the address!I've just had sent an email to T&D MACHINE asking this people for a shaft mounted rocker set for the inline six Chevy motors, but I've got a reply from them, as follows : " UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE NO PLANS AT THIS TIME OF PUTTING A STRAIGHT SIX ROCKER SET INTO PRODUCTION ". In any case,thanks for the help.

I noticed on T&D site that you can buy all the conponets that you need to build you'r own setup. The distance between the intake and the exhaust valve are the same as a small block v8 chevy. You have to mill down and tap the head for studs anyway. I think it can be done pretty easy.

Why do you want a shaft mounted rocker system? What will it do that stud mounted roller rockers will not do in an inline six? As far as I know only engines that see lots of RPM, like small block V8's operating in the 8000 - 14000 RPM range benefit from this kind of valve train stiffness. Do you plan to exceed 8000 RPM? If so then you may want to contact Harlan Sharp - he has made me custom shaft mounted rocker arms in the past, but even then these were only roller tipped aluminum bronze bushed rockers, not needle bearing pivot ones.
