Looking for info on building all out GMC 302 for 37 Chevy Coupe. High performance more important than streetability. Have accumulated several engines and performance components. Interested in stroker info, cyl. head modifications, possible blower info and has anyone ever converted parts from 8 cyl Hilborn injectors (cut down) for 3 port use on this engine, if so, would single round port injector or dual rectangular (like V8 smallblock) necked down to round port be preffered and how would you determine size in order to maintain best velocity. I recall that someone previously posted info as to poor machining tolerances on these engines but cannot find now, anyone know who or where? Also, anybody have roller lifters for GMC? Thats enough for now, Thanks all.

Many articles in past issues of the *Twelve-Port News* cover various aspects of GMC engine building. Tom Langdon has run a 302 with a stroked crankshaft (341 cid) and an original McGurk roller cam. A conversation with him about those things should be useful. A California inliner was running a supercharged 302 in a '31 Chevy, on the street, and was featured in the *Twelve-Port News* several years ago. i have not heard anything about that project recently.

i have thought that a full-out 302 for maximum horsepower and rpm (as opposed to the low- and midrange torque that is the great strength of these engines) would involve a 12-port head, fuel injection, and a "destroked" (3.8125) crankshaft from a 248. With .100 overbore that combination would yield 301.6 cid. With a supercharger one could think of 350 hp at 5500 rpm on gasoline. One might want to keep extra blocks and cranks ready to hand.

God's Peace to you.
