After I ordered a offy manifold for my 300 (JC Whitney) It was said on the now MIA and sorely missed Ford 6 site that a C manifold cant be used w/ a 2bbl, I needed some other model number. Well nothing said about that on the Whitney website. Im using a late 60's Autolite 2100 type carb, which I aint got yet. Is there a reason I cant make an adaptor plate to put the 2bbl on the C manifold? I got some nice 1/4 in Aluminum stock.....mutt

I don't see why not. But I would make it 1/2 thick because you will probably need to countersink at least two of the adapter mounting bolts under the carb and 1/4" thick will not be thick enough to hide the bolt heads.

Thanks Flyer....I think Ill hunt up a 2100 base gasket to use as a pattern, as it might be a couple weeks before I have the carburettor in hand...things will become a lot clearer with that.....m

Pep Boys have a ready made adaptor plate that allows you to slap a 4 bolt base 2bbl on the "4bbl only" Offy C manifold. Its supposed to let you put a 4bbl on a 2bbl manifold, I just flipped it over. A Autolite 2bbl base gasket is a perfect fit. $20, lot cheaper than having the local machine shop cut one out of 1/2 Al..... the game is afoot!
