Hi everyone!
I'm from Moscow Russia and own 1972 'Volga' sedan - 4.8m long, no frame, 2500cc r4 and manual tranny [Russians call this car 'Barge' and consider it to be HUGE]. Here are the photos: http://e-g.comtv.ru/my24.jpg
Well, straight 4 isn't... Well, you know what i mean. And manual tranny.. hmm.. too. So, I'm thinking of ordering Ford' 200ci straight 6 like this one http://www.digisys.net/fordfan/Falcon/62Futura.htm with a C-3. The only question is if it fits...
Here you can see the engine compartment: http://e-g.comtv.ru/carcar3.jpg
As Volga's pistons are packed into cylinder sleeves, the engine is bigger than it would be of Ford' design. That's why I guess Ford' R6 would fit. So.. Could anyone please tell me the length of 200ci Ford' engine (with and without pump attached)?
Thank you in advance!!

Greetings from all Inliners and welcome to the Inliners website.

Your Volga is a great looking car with nice body lines. As for Ford engines and specifications, you might try this Ford website:
http://www.fordpowerproducts.de/european_lit.htm

This should give you an idea about Ford engine choices on your side of "The Pond". Other links will show you engine options from Ford around the world. My personal favorite is the DOC-423. It is also available in the States and installed into Ford Ranger and Mazda B-2300 trucks, the Mazda3 and Mazda6 cars, the Ford Focus and soon, into a Volvo model. The DOC-423 is very lightweight at 140 kg and strong. There are performance engine builders making over 300 h.p with modified engines. 200 h.p. is quite easy to obtain!

Good luck with your project!

Best regards,

Welcome to the board. Trends sure are different there i see. My car is 213.1" (inches) or for you a little over 5.4 meters, and i'm sure there are plenty bigger all over the roads here. ('66 Chevy Bel-Air) Not to mention it's only a 2 door! Just try opening those doors on a steep hill, it's a workout!
